ruffle tree skirt.

A few people have been asking how i made my ruffle tree skirt. Well i did find the idea on pinterest but i did NOT follow that tutorial. talk about a headache! i dont think i could have the patience to make it  like the tutorial says... its called a "no sew" christmas tree skirt, but you better believe i used a sewing machine! HEREs what i did:
- i used linen, i like the way it lays, also it kinda frays which i like
- i bought a felt tree skirt at wal-mart for 5 bucks, beats cutting a circle cause who wants to mess with doing that? not me
- I cut my strip 4 inches wide... and i even felt like i could have done 5. My friend did 2 inches and more power to her! go girl.
- Heres where the big difference is.... the tutorial just ruffled their strips as they glued them with the hot glue gun. WHAT!? no thanks.... i know girls in my ward that did it this way and it took them 8-10 hours. With the help of my mom who is a wizzard on the sewing machine... i ruffle them on the sewing machine. also make sure when you cut your fabric you cut it long ways.... so it shoudl be 5 yard long strips. (yes i used 5 yards of linen)
- After all strips were ruffled i hot glued them onto the skirt.... and VWALA!! a beautiful ruffled tree skirt
